Nikki DeShane
Founder of Breakthrough Apraxia Spelling to Communicate Practitioner
Nikki has been working with the Autism Community for 28+ years. She was introduced to Spelling to Communicate (S2C) by Dawn Marie Gaivin in 2020 and became a Certified S2C Practitioner in 2023. Nikki initially received her degree in Occupational Therapy. She is certified in Sensory Integration and Praxis. In 2004, Nikki received her degree in Applied Behavioral Analysis for Special Education from Penn State University. Today in her own private practice she focuses on sensory motor differences, intentional/purposeful motor, and helping nonspeakers, unreliable and minimal speakers access reliable communication. Nikki is a faculty member of the International Association for Spelling to Communicate (I-ASC.org) , where she provides mentorship to practitioners in training. She is incredibly excited to help your child find their voice through S2C!
When she is not at the clinic you will find Nikki spending time with her two children, dog and cat. They enjoy taking beach trips to the Oregon Coast and their annual trip to Wildlife Safari.
